Eclipse Happening

On June 4th some Moon Geese stopped at the URSA Observatory in Helsinki, which was a good reason to celebrate an "Eclipse Happening".

Starting with a symposium with Tapio Markkanen, astronomer and professor of the Observatory of Helsinki, and Agnes Meyer-Brandis talking about different space travelling methods and eclipses from art and science perspectives at KIASMA theatre.

After the symposium a Moon Walk Wolkshop for humans and Moon Geese followed - with dance teacher Milla Koistinen and accompanied by remix collection of Michael Jackson´s Billie Jean, featured by French artist Jean-Baptiste Bayle (see next page 11).

After the workshop an urban expedition to Kaivopuisto followed. The expedition will was done by feet.

Once at URSA observatory in Kaivopuisto, we enjoyed russian music played by guitar and sung by Punch, russian snacks and a view of the famous Moon Geese by Agnes Meyer-Brandis flying to the Moon in URSA portable planetarium. The relaxed astronomical evening continued around the observartory. Unfortunatly it was raining and we could not observe the Moon by the telescope.

The event is organised by Pixelache and Capsula.
Thank you to Finnish Ministry of Education, Goethe Institute Helsinki, HIAP, URSA, Kiasma Theatre for their support.
